The only downside is that every day around 4:00 P.M. I hit a wall and it becomes incredibly difficult for me to keep my eyes open. But 4 o'clock is way too late to take a nap, and I have classes during appropriate nap times.
I can't believe how much I'm learning. Just when I think my learning on a certain subject has peaked, I take a class that tops everything. Happens every semester. Love it.
I'm pretty sure my body is getting normal finally (except for the whole pregnancy symptoms for PMS ordeal... which I guess is normal... I feel so nauseous right now... yet I want to devour everything I smell--food-wise. Chocolate, peanut butter, and a coffee flavored power bar that I specifically remember the Lloyds used to have when we were younger). The infections seem to be gone. I've been making a substantial effort to eat better AND sleep better... or at least go to sleep at reasonable times. I can't make myself actually sleep better. In fact, I haven't had a restful night's sleep since I came to Rexburg--except that one time when I was sick and Anton gave me Niquil, which I had never had before, and it knocked me out for 10 hours (didn't wake up once). But then I couldn't sleep for two weeks after that.
Anyway, the sun is shining, Anton and I are planning picnics and camping trips, people are finally letting me babysit their kids, and I just discovered the most amazing cake. I don't really like cake (except cheesecake, which is the best), but I went to a friend's birthday party and she had an ice cream cake from Coldstone. I always knew ice cream cake was my favorite (even though I hadn't had it since I was like 7). It was so yummy!

I love ice cream cake. I've always wanted one for my birthday :) but then I always resort to cheesecake cuz it's my fav, I can make it, and it's way cheaper :) and less messy. I don't think I've had one since I was like 10 either!
ReplyDeleteYour getting up earlier section inspired me. When Miguel got back from North Dakota he was getting up at 5 and 6 every morning because of the time change and I did it a few times with him and it was amazing...but then I feel back into going to sleep late...which makes it super hard to get up early. Especially if your kids are waking up in the night too :( Boo.
Happy for your learning! I'm feeling like I need a mentally stimulating book...not like a narrative about someone else's fake (or real for that matter) life. More like a "make you think about something legit" book. OR a photography class. I need to expand somehow.
Hm, well I felt my mind was stimulated after reading C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters. Probably anything he wrote is a stimulating read. And any Russian literature (which you can find in English).
ReplyDeleteI told Anton I want him to get up this early with me every day... when he gets a different job, or course. He's done it on days he didn't work, and told me he really likes it too.
